Part 1: The Adventurer's Toolbox - Filter Overview
Before diving into complex searches, let's take a look at the tools at your disposal. Each filter is a key designed to unlock a specific section of our arsenal.
Availability: The anti-disappointment filter. The simplest and one of the most useful. By checking "In stock," you hide all the figurines that are not immediately available. This ensures that you can prepare your gaming sessions without any unpleasant surprises.
Price: The treasurer's filter. Whether you have the budget of a kingdom or the purse of a novice adventurer, this tool allows you to define the price range that suits you. Simple, visual, and effective for staying within your budget.
Danger Rating (DR): The GM's strategic filter. The essential tool for any Game Master. Based on the Challenge Rating (CR), it allows you to target creatures appropriate for your group's level. No more risk of accidentally throwing an Elder Dragon against a level 3 group!
Types: The Bestiary Filter. Know what you're looking for, but not who exactly? This filter is for you. Separate Monsters from NPCs with one click, or isolate Animals to populate your forests.
Class: The Identity Filter. Dedicated to players in search of their alter ego. Whether you play as an unyielding Warrior , a learned Wizard , or a ferocious Barbarian , this filter leads you directly to the models that match your vocation.
Miniature Size: The Presence Filter. A creature's impact on the tabletop often depends on its size. Are you looking for a Small Goblin or a Large Giant? This filter helps you visualize the physical presence of your next acquisition. The order of magnitude follows the D&D rules, assuming that the squares on your battlemap are 2.5cm each. Thus, a Medium miniature will measure 2.5cm at its base, and a XL miniature will measure 7.5cm.
Figurine (Painted / Unpainted): The hobbyist's filter. It's the choice between "ready-to-play" and "ready-to-create." Choose "Painted" for a figurine that's ready to use, or "Unpainted" for the pleasure of bringing it to life with your own brushes.
Scenario: The Game Master's Preparation
You're the GM. It's Tuesday night, and the session is coming up soon. You're missing the boss for your next dungeon. He must be threatening, match the skill level of your players, and, most importantly, be available now.
Your quest: A fearsome monster, suitable for a group of 4 level 5 adventurers.
Your first instinct will not be to scroll through 300 figurines, but to use the GM's most powerful tool: the Danger Index (DI) .
A monster's danger rating indicates the threat it poses . A group of four well-rested and equipped adventurers should be able to defeat, without suffering any losses, a monster whose danger rating is equal to the group's level. Of course, it's up to you to decide whether you want the fight to be more or less tough!
- Filter by Danger Rating: Check "5," "6," and "7" to give yourself some wiggle room. Tada! The Dungeon instantly displays creatures matching that power level.
- Refine by Type: You want an opponent, not just a villager. Check the Type filter and select "Monsters." Goodbye peaceful NPCs, hello tentacled creatures!
- Visualize the threat with Size: A dungeon-ending boss needs to be imposing. In the Figure Size filter, select "Large Size" or "Large Size." The list narrows down to the real heavyweights of the battlefield!
- Make sure you're on top of things with Availability: The most important filter for stress-free preparation. Check "In Stock." You'll now only see figures that can be shipped immediately.
In four clicks, you've gone from a huge collection to a tailor-made selection of 5 or 6 potential bosses, all relevant and available.
The power of combinations
As you can see, the real magic happens when you combine filters. Each selection refines the previous one, transforming our vast arsenal into your own personal, perfectly organized armory.
Never hesitate to combine them: look for an NPC , of Warrior class, who is already painted , in stock . The precision you can achieve is your best ally.
More play, less searching
Filters are more than just tools; they're an extension of your thinking as a player and GM. By mastering them, you can tailor the Dungeon to meet your precise creative needs.
So the next time you have a specific idea in mind, challenge our arsenal. It's designed to answer you!
Happy searching, and above all, happy adventures!
